About Us

V-SOX was founded by Alex Hornall, a passionate footballer with a simple but powerful idea: to create a better football sock—one that stays up, supports shin pads, and eliminates the need for electrical tape, straps, or ties. The spark came in 2017, when Alex, like so many players, was frustrated by slipping socks and constantly buying tape. What started as a personal pain point soon became a mission to reinvent an everyday essential for athletes everywhere.

After years of concept development and exploring materials, Alex began liaising with overseas manufacturers to bring his vision to life. He experimented with various stitching techniques, fabrics, and Velcro strap designs, finally producing the first working prototype of V-SOX in 2021.

Following extensive testing on and off the pitch, Alex perfected the design and secured a production partner. In July 2024, the first official batch of V-SOX Stay-Up Sports Socks arrived—featuring integrated anti-snag Velcro straps and built-in support. The product sold out quickly, proving there was a demand for this innovative solution. V-Sox then achieved Patent status in November 2024 (UK Patent: 2 590 606). A restock followed in January 2025.

Building on this success, Alex launched a second product: the V-SOX Tube in May 2025. A classic over-the-calf tube sock with modern performance enhancements, it was created for athletes who prefer a more traditional fit while still benefitting from V-SOX’s signature quality and comfort.

Today, V-SOX offers two core products that share the same DNA—performance, innovation, and simplicity—and has quickly become a go-to name in grassroots and amateur football circles.

From idea to pitch, V-SOX is a brand built by players, for players—and it’s only just getting started.
